Do you remember when Tyrone switched units mid-deployment? He moved to a Calvalry unit. So, while he's not ACTUALLY a Cav guy, he is attached to them, he's their NBC guy (nuclear, biological, chemical). The cool thing about Cav guys? They get to wear spurs with their Class As!
So, guess what Tyrone brought home the other day? A certificate saying that he has been entered on the rolls of "The Order of the Combat Spur!" Here's what it says:
Be It Known That
SPC Tyrone L. Martin
with Carbine and Sabre, has demonstrated the Skill, Fitness, Dash, Discipline and Cunning of a United States Cavalry Trooper and is hereby entered on to the rolls of "The Order of the Combat Spur" and is authorized to don a pair of Calvalry Spurs at all formal Armor or Cavalry Formations.
So, I already knew that he had plenty of Dash and Cunning...but it's nice to be told by the army! :) Isn't it all very romantic? I think it is.....brings to mind Gone With the Wind or something. Or maybe I'm just losing it.....
Oh, and not only is he their NBC NCO, he's ALSO now their Training Room NCO. This doesn't come with a promotion or a raise or anything like that, and it's alot of extra work, but it looks good. It looks good that they thought enough of him to think he could do the job, and it will look good when he goes before the E5 board.
Here's to my dashing husband!
