Today was the last day of Tyrone's leave, so it's back to work tomorrow. It was fabulous having him home, and I will miss it. Here are a few shots of the last couple of days of leave...

Shiloh and Daddy, eating "daddy sandwiches"

Cleaning up K's lines after Mommy cut his hair...

And then he decided to just go ahead and do Gabe's himself

Last night, Shiloh followed me everywhere for hours, insisting that I swaddle her baby...after which she would promptly UNswaddle the baby....and repeat. you get the picture!

This is from last night right before bedtime...Gabe is pitiful with a fever, and K was just tired from school...I can't really tell you what Domino's excuse for looking so tired was!

I have told several of you about Shiloh's tactics for peeking outside, and here is picture proof! She's soooo silly!

And, last night after everyone was tucked in, I fell asleep with Domino on the couch. My dear husband thought he would take our pic....thanks. thanks alot, honey! lol Anyway, are you noticing a pattern w/ Domino? hehe

just another weather related note...

Because I just can't get over how COLD it is....our low tonight is going to be negative 14. The HIGH tomorrow is going to be negative 3. Can you call that a high? and the low tomorrow is going to be negative 17. Brrrr......

The snow is pretty....to bad it's also very cold!

is it to late...

...for Kaleb to ask for his 2 front teeth for Christmas?

sweet, silly shiloh

Train table drawers are made for sitting in? Who knew?

Sorry it's sideways, but here is Shiloh attempting to jump, with encouragement from her Daddy. She wants to master this skill badly and has been working on it almost non stop. :)

A while back, I told everyone that we were not getting to settled up here in New York, and to stay tuned for an update. Well, I haven't meant to leave everyone hanging for months and months, but things change so quickly!

Before we left Savannah, Tyrone called me one day out of the blue and asked "How do you feel about Texas?" Texas?! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! Well, Tyrone had received orders that would have taken us to Ft. Hood, TX sometime between Feb. and April. I immediately started trying to see the good in it....we were going to be warm.....we'd be 3 hours away from Suzanne and my father-in-law.....only a couple more hours from Kristy (who I desperately want to meet in person!).....8 hours from my grandparents.

Tyrone, however, asked me to hold off on a post announcing the fact that only 4 months after moving from GA to NY, that we would be moving to TX. We did alot of soul searching and careful thinking, and Tyrone decided to re-enlist and add another 19 months on to his contract with the army.

Let me explain. When you "re-up", you get to choose where you are going to be stationed. We tossed around some pretty exotic places, even places on different continents. In the end, however, Tyrone decided he would ask to stay right where we are. There are several factors behind this decision, but some of the biggies are (1)the current state of the economy (2) we KNOW when his current unit will deploy again, so we don't run the risk of going somewhere else, only to be told that he has to deploy in a month (3) we have moved ALOT in the past few years, and the kids could really use the stability.

So, here we are, and here we will stay. I have to give Tyrone kudos on this...the army, while being something he's awesome at, is not his be-all, end-all goal. We have big plans for the future, and for becoming strictly civilian. However, he looked closely and carefully at our situation as a family and decided this was best for us. Not him, but us. I love this man.

when life gives you (lots of) snow....play in it!
