1 year {e}

Today, our sweet Emmeline Lily is 1 year old. She is a completely different child than any of our other 3. She has no teeth, she doesn't sleep through the night, she is NOT fond of strangers. She is completely a walker, loves to cuddle more than any 1 year old I've seen, and can literally repeat any word you tell her too. She can sign, but chooses to use words more frequently. She gets mad if our dog is between me and her.

Emmeline is still nursing! It was a huge deal to me to get to 1 year with her, as the longest I'd ever made it with the other 3 was 3 months. I am now confronted with medication issues, but we'll see what the future holds! She has finally decided that, even with her lack of teeth, she can eat things that aren't pureed, and this has opened up a world of possibilities. She LOVES trying new foods. She also is drinking whole milk some of the time!

Emme knows who her Daddy is, and asks for him often. When she sees him on the computer, she says "DADDY!" loudly and is so excited. They play peek-a-boo via webcam, which is enough to melt anyone's heart.

We had Emme's birthday party last night with Heather, her husband Raymond, and their kids Mckayla and Vinny. Here is Emme's cake!

Happy birthday girl!

Ms. Heather, serving up the pizza!

Emme, SUPER happy about her pizza!

Time to blow out the candles!

This was her very first bite of cake, but she knew EXACTLY what to do with it, no coaching required!

Then, it was present time! With some help from big sissy!

Emmeline with her present from her Grandma and Mr. William, her very own baby and stroller

Emmeline LOVES her toy from Grandmother and Grandfather...

And so do all the other kids!

Emme trying out her present from Mommy and Daddy!

She had a really fantastic birthday! It's hard to believe that she is 1! The only thing that could have made it better would have been having Daddy here. But, soon enough!
