I just wanted to share a couple of the things that my boys have done at unexpected moments recently that were incredibly sweet.
*The "toothfairy" visited K the night that he lost (ok, I pulled it out, at his request!) his tooth. The fairy visited early on, and so, when K woke up to go to the bathroom at about 2am and checked under his pillow, there was his dollar! He brought the envelope containing the dollar to me, and sleepily said "Mommy, the toothfairy came. I want to leave this by you until morning, ok?" And he did. He went back to bed and slept peacefully until morning. When I thought about it, this is so sweet I almost cried. My 6 year old loves me and trusts me SO MUCH that he couldn't think of a safer place to leave his treasure, than beside me.
*Today, Gabe and I were going to lay down on the couch together and watch his new Diego movie. I was getting Shiloh settled in for her nap, and asked him to run upstairs and grab the pillow off of his bed. I figured we'd be cuddling together, one pillow was all we would need. Well, I heard him really struggling on the stairs, and I was done getting Shiloh down, so I went and checked on him. He had his pillow in one hand, and my HUGE body pillow in the other, trying to get everything down. I asked him what he was doing, and he said "Mommy needs a pillow like Gabe." I thought it was very sweet, he had thought of me, and on his own done something to make me comfortable.

what wonderful boy stories! they seem like the sweetest things. i will be honored to meet them some day.
Congratulaions on your anniversary and your good spirit of being thankful even with Tyrone not there to celebrate with you. I don't know how may anniversaries GP and I celebrated when we weren't together but I discovered civilian families often have work related separations too. We'll be praying for extra sweetness at the ones you ARE together.
