tomorrow
by Bailey
Tomorrow, Tyrone and the kids will be on there own! It is finally time for my appt. in Syracuse with the specialist for my jaw. I am anxious, but I really want to know what the next step is and just be done with all of this already.
I wish that Tyrone could come with me, but the boys cannot miss school just because I have an appt., so he was able to get the day off of work to stay home and get everyone fed/dressed/on the appropriate bus at the appropriate time, and then he'll have some nice father/daughter time with Shiloh.
This trip is really a small road trip, and since I didn't want to go by myself, Sheena is going to ride with me....we are even going to stop by Starbucks on our way! (This makes me very happy...Starbucks isn't really close by...)
Anyway, I will let y'all know the latest when I do! Yesterday, Shiloh got some bottles for her babies, and she's been thoroughly enjoying feeding them....

And here's a little all-sibling cooperation :)

funny things my boys say

**Kaleb, who, through much observation, has gained a hilarious sense of timing, waited until Tyrone and I were teasing each other back and forth to stand up and declare "Daddy is THE man!" we rolled :)
**Gabe, a couple of days ago, jumped out of the shower, threw his arms wide, and loudly said "Good MORNING, world!!"....no towel or anything. He will really resent me for this one day...
**Gabe found some icky thing outside and said "Mommy, this is de-cost-ing." with a wrinkled nose.
**Kaleb has this song he sings at school about how much coins are worth, and which equal each other, as in "2 dimes and a nickel make a quarter every time!" This morning while he was waiting on his bus, he changed it up to amuse his sister and turned the whole thing into a fruit and vegetable song. as in "2 oranges and carrot make a lemon every time!" I don't know if it was the words or the antics that went with it, but Shiloh thought he was hysterical. So did I :)

big boy play

First, yes, this is a different car. Tyrone sold the Accord and bought the Civic that he's always wanted. He's been having lots of fun doing mods on it. So, he wanted to go outside once the snow stopped this afternoon and put some new parts in his car, and he took the boys with him. I snuck outside for a few to get some shots of all the boys at play.

i REALLY didn't want this to happen

So, Tyrone came home from work for a little while and stayed home with Kaleb, and Sheena rode to the pediatrician's office with Gabe, Shiloh, and me. We met the other pediatrician at the practice, and she was just as cool as the first one.
So, guess how many infected ears my 2 youngest children have between them? 4. Yep, 4 for 4. Great, huh? That makes 3 infected ears for Shiloh in 4 months, something to keep an eye on. But, worse than that, my worst fears for Shiloh's check up were confirmed. She is wheezing, and satting at 95%. Now, this is not panic inducing or anything like that, but we like O2 sats between 98 and100%.
Asthma does not get diagnosed because of one incident, but I see it coming. It feels like Gabe all over again, and she certainly has the family history to be vulnerable. Shiloh now has nebulizer treatments prescribed to her, along with an antibiotic. Gabe has a new rescue inhaler, and a new preventitive, and antibiotics.
I hate asthma. I have watched my husband and son struggle to breathe. I have watched parts of my son turn blue, I have watchted the skin retracting around his ribs. I have seen him slowly becoming unresponsive during an attack, and I have had him wisked from me and put on oxygen in the ER. I have sat up countless nights, listening to ragged breathing, trying my hardest to discern when it was time to decide that I couldn't treat this at home and when to head to the ER, praying that my decisions are the right ones.
I do not want this for another one of my children. I hate that I cannot just take it away, I cannot fix it. I can manage it, and stay on top of it, but I cannot fix it.
